Author Gloria Perez shared this Saturday (28), a post on her social networks, marking 32 years since the tragic murder of her daughter, Daniella Perez. On her Instagram, Gloria published a message accompanied by images remembering the young woman, who was just 22 years old when she was brutally murdered in 1992.
“No, time doesn’t soften anything,” wrote the author. The post received a wave of solidarity, with messages of support from fans, friends and celebrities who also honored Daniella’s memory.
The crime, which shocked Brazil, occurred on the night of December 28, 1992, after Daniella left the recording of the soap opera “De Corpo e Alma”, written by her mother. The young actress was followed to a gas station by actor Guilherme de Pádua and his wife, Paula Thomaz. Guilherme, who starred with Daniella in the plot, attacked the young woman before taking her to a bush, where the couple committed the crime and abandoned the body.
Guilherme de Pádua was arrested shortly after the incident and convicted of the murder. Despite his sentence, he only served a third of it, being released in 1999. Paula Thomaz was also convicted and served time for her involvement in the case. Guilherme passed away in 2022, victim of a heart attack.
The tragedy involving Daniella Perez left deep marks on Brazilian society and drove Gloria Perez to fight tirelessly for justice and the preservation of her daughter’s memory. The case also sparked debates about violence against women.
