The mayor of , Orlando Morando, will take over the administration’s Urban Security secretariat (). He left the PSDB this month, after almost 20 years of membership.
Morando is currently in his second term in the city of ABC São Paulo. He launched his niece, Flávia Morando, as successor, but she was defeated in the first round.
He tells the Panel that the mayor asked him to pay special attention to Civil Defense at the beginning of his administration, due to the intense rains that usually occur at the beginning of the year.
Morando highlights that the Metropolitan Civil Guard of São Bernardo do Campo became the second largest in the state during his administration and highlights the Noite Tranquila operation, monitoring crashes during the early hours of the morning, as one of the highlights.
However, he says he will still talk to Nunes about creating new programs in the capital.
Morando is another mayor that Nunes invites to join his administration. In addition to him, Rogério Lins (Podemos), mayor of Osasco and future secretary of Sports, Rodrigo Ashiuchi (PL), mayor of Suzano and future secretary of the Environment, will also be in the government.
Nunes’ strategy is reminiscent of that of former mayor and former governor José Serra (PSDB), whom he used to appoint during his administration.
