As a response to the sanctions introduced by the European Union, Russia has expanded the list of people banned from entering the country.
The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Saturday that Moscow, in response to a new set of sanctions by the European Union, “substantially” expanded the list of representatives of the EU and its member countries who are prohibited from entering Russia. This was reported by the Reuters and TASS agencies, writes TASR.
The European Union this month adopted a 15th package of economic and individual restrictive measures aimed at further limiting Russia’s ability to wage war against Ukraine. The new sanctions are mainly aimed at the circumvention of EU sanctions against Russia by the so-called “shadow fleet” of tankers and also at weakening the Russian military and industrial complex.
In a statement on Saturday, the Russian Ministry said that the Russian side is adding to its sanctions list, among other things, other representatives of security authorities, state and private companies from the EU, and citizens of member countries of the Union, who are in charge of providing military aid to Kyiv. The department did not name the sanctioned persons and companies.
