Around 4 million tourists are expected; most of it should be concentrated in Baixada Santista and the north coast
The holiday season in São Paulo is expected to attract around 4 million tourists to the state’s coast. The data comes from Ciet (Tourism Economy Intelligence Center), linked to the São Paulo Government’s Secretariat of Tourism and Travel.
The estimate is that most of these visitors will be concentrated in Baixada Santista, where 2.9 million people are expected. The cities on the north coast, in turn, are expected to attract another 1.1 million people by the end of January.
Ciet calculates that these tourists and day-trippers visiting the coast of São Paulo should generate a direct financial turnover of more than R$9.6 billion.
“With good land connectivity and nearby airports, São Paulo stands out for its logistics and quality of attractions, which has generated a record number of tourists every year”says the Secretary of Tourism and Travel, Roberto de Lucena.
At the turn of the year alone, around 1 million visitors are expected on the coast of São Paulo. Baixada Santista is expected to receive 700,000 tourists from other locations in the New Year. On the north coast, around 300 thousand.
