We’ve seen something like this before! When Juraj Šeliga, vice-chairman of the Democrats party, published holiday photos, everyone connected them to the case from 2022. The former member of the National People’s Republic of Slovakia didn’t just spend Christmas at home, but immediately after the obligatory Christmas Day he went out into nature.
“I wish a beautiful Christmas to all people of good will. May the hope and joy of the little baby Jesus born in the manger shine through everyday difficulties and pains. I wish you a beautiful Christmas from the bottom of my heart, dear friends,” Šeliga said on December 24 on social networks. Two days later, he threw off his elegant suit and shirt and went to the stream in the village of Hruštín na Orava to cool off in only his underwear.
Those close to him watching couldn’t hold back their laughter as he sat down in the icy water. But immediately his slippers came off, which were immediately carried away by the current and he had to chase them. “Today, with the toughening up, it went about halfway. But if you’re looking for a New Year’s commitment, I recommend it! PS I chased those slippers almost to the Orava Dam, but they were saved.” said a good-humored Šeliga with a VIDEO of bathing on Instagram. You can find it at the beginning of the article.
In 2022, former tennis player and politician Romana Tabaková offended the public and nature conservationists when she showed off photos on social networks in which she wore only a swimsuit and was bracing herself in Studen Potok with the strictest level of protection. Tabaková received a lot of criticism from Slovaks and a fine of 500 euros. You can find the infamous PHOTO in the gallery below the article.
Director of the Slovak Environmental Inspectorate, Ján Jenčo, informed at the time that the amount of the fine is according to the law it could go up to 3300 eurosthe specific amount was decided by the Environmental Inspectorate in Košice.
“I take it with humility, I honestly did not expect such a high fine. However, it is a lesson for me and I believe that others will also learn from this and be careful how to behave in the national park,” she wrote in response.
Tabaková published photos of herself bathing in a stream on the territory of TANAP on her social network. where the strictest level of protection applies. She then stated that she marked the location incorrectly. SIŽP received two initiatives to investigate bathing. One initiative came from the Tatra National Park Administration (TANAP), the second, a civil one, was received by the inspection electronically.
