The surrounding buildings are still burning, which makes it impossible for firefighters to search.
After the collapse of a two-story apartment building in Tešín in the south of Poland, the search for two people continues on Sunday, TASR reports, according to a report by the PAP agency.
“Two people are still missing,” the local authorities said, adding that 11 people lived in the building and nine of them are safe. A special search team with dogs is also on the scene.
Two adjacent buildings are on fire, making it impossible for firefighters to search the wreckage of the destroyed house. According to preliminary estimates, a gas explosion could have caused the collapse.
17 people were evacuated from the adjacent buildings and three people were hospitalized. The cause of the incident is under investigation.
