Flamengo announced the departure of David Luiz and now the player is free on the market. At the All-Star Game, organized by Zico on Saturday (28/12), the athlete opened up about his future and projected what his next steps should be.
In fact, David Luiz said that, in the old board, it was almost certain that he would renew. The decision to end the relationship came from Flamengo’s new directors, recently elected.
– The only thing I’m upset about is that the same way you received the announcement on Instagram, it was with me. If I didn’t have social media I wouldn’t know they wouldn’t renew with me. It was something intentional or something a little amateur – he revealed.

What should David Luiz’s next team be?
According to some assumptions, David Luiz would have his name mentioned in teams like Vasco and Fortaleza. However, no formal proposal arrived.
After the charity game, the player spoke out and denied that he would be interested in defending any of Flamengo’s rivals next season.
– I don’t think so. From everything I’ve experienced here, I don’t think so – he said when asked.
However, on vacation, David Luiz stated that his focus is to rest and think about the future only after the end of this year.
– I’m just enjoying the holidays. I haven’t even spoken to him, he’s calling me, and I say: Don’t bother me, I want to enjoy it with my family, from day 1 you’ll talk to me, only in 2025 – said the player.
