There are already high hopes for the Army’s new aircraft: a critical gap in airspace surveillance is finally to be closed. As a reminder: The Saab 105 OE training jets were retired in 2020 after 50 years. A replacement was not ordered. But that’s not all: since then, Austrian pilots have had to be trained entirely abroad.
