TJ-MT orders judges to return ‘VR’ more than R$ 10 thousand – 12/29/2024 – Power

The president of the Court of Justice of , judge Clarice Claudino da Silva, ordered the return of R$ 10,055 paid as food assistance to judges and employees of the state Judiciary.

The determination responds to the decision of the national inspector of justice, Mauro Campbell Marques, who suspended the payment of aid. The court reported that the amounts had already been paid.

According to the TJ-MT, judges must deposit the amount into the court’s account in one installment. Servers will be able to return the money in installments, with payroll deduction. The court further states that “it is adopting the necessary administrative measures to comply with the suspension order.”

The adoption of an “exceptional value” for the December food voucher was announced by the president of the court on December 17th. From January 2025, the order said, the benefit would be R$2,055 per month.

According to the (National Council of Justice), the Mato Grosso Court of Justice has 323 magistrates and 4,835 employees. The total value of the exceptional benefit, therefore, would total R$51.8 million. In 2023, the Mato Grosso court had a total expense of R$2.47 billion.

That year, it was the second Brazilian state court with the highest spending on magistrates, with an average monthly value of R$ 116,622, which includes benefits, charges, social security, daily allowances, tickets, and compensation — the highest cost was for the Court of Justice from Mato Grosso do Sul, R$120,354.

Server costs were also among the highest in Brazil, ranking fourth, with R$22,313, on average, per server.
