The president of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), minister Luís Roberto Barroso, said that Jimmy Carter honored public life, when commenting on the death of the former president of the United States this Sunday (29).
“The president was a person who honored public life, with integrity and commitments to democracy and human rights,” said Barroso.
Also according to Barroso, the Carter Center was an important observer of the Brazilian electoral process.
“The Foundation that bears his name was an observer of the Brazilian elections, with an important participation. His memory deserves to be revered as someone who made a valuable contribution to the cause of humanity.”
The information about the death of the former US president was confirmed by the Carter Center, saying that he died in Plains, Georgia, alongside his family.
