The final phase of the Little Ice Age is an exciting topic for volcanologists, climatologists and historians. This is not only because this period from 1800 to 1850 of our era is considered the coldest period of the last 500 years, which was probably triggered by a series of large volcanic events. This connection can be easily established through increased sulfur compounds (sulfates) in polar ice cores.
