As announced by the country’s Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), the impact occurred
the northern city of Bangui in the province of Ilocos.
So far there are no reports of casualties or significant material damage.
The Philippines is located on the so-called Pacific Ring of Fire, an area where tectonic plates intersect and seismic and volcanic activity is intense.
