You don’t have to make anything or look for special ingredients. The second essential ingredient is rice. This, in turn, is an ideal product that will retain the scent and release it slowly.

Home fragrances often use porous wood to spread a pleasant aroma. Plain rice also works similarly. You are probably aware that rice can absorb water well, which is why it is added, for example, to salt to make it loose. For your convenience, however, the rice absorbs the scent of the essential oil or your body perfume. It will gradually release it and perfume the small bathroom, but also the whole apartment.
Thanks to its porous structure, rice is the perfect natural carrier of such an aroma, which ensures a long-lasting effect. It won’t spill anywhere and you can pour it into a bowl on a plate, but also into a bottle or vase. That’s up to you. It can also be practical to use rice in a colored organza bag. Thanks to this, you can place such a perfume, for example, in a car or in a wardrobe.
Homemade rice freshener
What does preparation look like in practice? Choose a bowl, glass or decorative cup into which you want to pour the rice. Add 5 to 10 drops of essential oil or your favorite perfume to a handful of white rice. Pierce the rice and mix. Then just pour it on a plate or in a glass and place it in the room where you want the fragrance to waft.
You can choose a perfume or oils purely according to your own preferences. But if you decide to use, for example, rice in an organza bag and then place it in the wardrobe, you can also choose from essential oils that directly repel pests. Clothes moths, fish, but also ants are repelled by lavender, citrus fruits, but also vigorous eucalyptus, mint and similar pungent scents.
