Communication between Slovak President Peter Pellegrini and Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD) is functioning normally and at the level it should be. In an interview for TASR, Pellegrini stated this, adding that a meeting of the top three constitutional officials should also take place in January.
According to Pellegrini, the last time the three highest constitutional officials met was on September 1, and he has had more meetings with the prime minister. “Not all of them are always publicized, because they are often purely technical working meetings, so I just want to disprove any assumptions that communication between the prime minister and the president would not work in this state,” says the head of state.
The President would like to be able to call a joint meeting of all three of the highest constitutional officials duly elected. “Now it was still just a meeting of the two highest and one deputy, but of course even such a meeting makes sense unless a new Speaker is elected.” he said.
