Renato Tommaso, member of, died on Sunday (29), aged 54. The death, whose cause was not revealed, was announced on the Brazilian band’s social networks. “Great friend, an exemplary family man, incredible bassist, super professional, partner in endless conversations about music, football, culture and everything that comes up. We have no words to express all the pain and sadness we are feeling right now. It’s difficult from now on to do a show and not remember you, my friend”, says the post on Jota Quest’s official Instagram profile.

The vocalist also used the platform to pay tribute to his friend and bandmate: “Our deepest sympathies for the sad and premature departure of dear friend and walking partner Renato Tommaso. Great musician and giant professional who has been with us these last 18 years, whether on the road, in the studios or on stage, dedicating himself to the maximum, and living with us side by side, always very special moments.”

Tommaso’s body will be laid to rest this Monday (30), at the Saudade Cemetery, in Belo Horizonte (MG). The burial will take place in the same place, around 4:30 pm. The musician leaves behind his wife, Dani, with whom he had been for 29 years, and his daughter Renata, aged 26. Renata also paid tribute to her father online. “Even the longings, which will be eternal, don’t compare to my love for you, daddy. Rest in peace, see you one day,” she wrote.
