Based on a recent My Forum: I was never a sports kid at school – I especially hated football and basketball at school: certain other children were always very aggressive and would insult you if you didn’t do well enough. What I liked, on the other hand, was dodgeball: most children didn’t take this game too seriously, a defeat didn’t matter – and you couldn’t keep acting stupid because then you would get shot down. It therefore surprises me personally that dodgeball (and not other games) is perceived as particularly traumatizing in the current debate. What is the reason for this? Why aren’t football and basketball included, for example? What makes dodgeball particularly bad?
