Santos and Botafogo continue negotiating a possible departure for Jair to Glorioso in this transfer window. Peixe plays a tough game and the Rio club has now included defender Lucas Halter in the negotiation, which also involves midfielder Danilo Barbosa and striker Tiquinho Soares, in addition to a sum of money.

How are the conversations between Botafogo and Santos regarding the exchange?
The boards have been negotiating since the beginning of December. Previously, Botafogo proposed Tiquinho, Danilo Barbosa and another 9 million euros (around R$56.6 million), but the proposal was rejected by Santos, who asked for the inclusion of a defender.
According to reporter Joanna de Assis, from Sportv, Lucas Halter should be the defender requested by Peixe, who will also receive 9 million euros (R$56 million). Alvinegro from Vila Belmiro has already given the ok, with the Santos defender saying yes.

What proposals did Santos already have for Jair?
Jair, 19 years old, has been the target of some European clubs this season. The first proposal came from Porto, which offered 15 million euros (R$95 million) and the permanent stay of striker Wendel, on loan until June 2025, which would give another around 3 million euros (R$19 million).
Afterwards, Atalanta, from Italy, signaled to Alvinegro an offer of 20 million euros (around R$125 million) for Menino da Vila, but the offer did not officially reach the board. Botafogo itself has already offered US$12 million (R$73 million), which was refused.

How long will the contracts of Jair, Lucas Halter, Tiquinho and Danilo Barbosa last?
In April this year, Santos renewed the contract with Jair until the end of 2026, the same duration as Tiquinho Soares’ contract with Botafogo.
Danilo Barbosa’s contract with Glorioso is shorter, until the end of 2025. Halter has a contract until the end of 2027.
