The review of the year is depressing for all those who were affected by the flood of the century in September: arduous work, enormous costs. In Austria alone, these amounted to 1.3 billion euros, as a team involving the Complexity Science Hub (CSH) estimated in October. For all countries affected by Storm Boris, a new estimate comes to 5.2 billion US dollars, as the British aid organization Christian Aid announced on Monday. The equivalent is currently almost five billion euros. 26 people died in the storms.
