A new year is coming and with it fireworks shows all over the world. The entry into 2025 is celebrated according to the time zone of each territory:
The first country to celebrate the arrival of the new year was Kiribati, a territory in the Pacific made up of 33 atolls and islands.
An hour later, at 11am (Lisbon time), 2025 arrived in Auckland, New Zealand.
Next comes Australia (at 1pm, Lisbon time); South Korea (3pm); Hong Kong, Taiwan and Malaysia (4pm); Bangkok, Thailand (5pm) India (6:30pm) and Pakistan (7pm).
At 8pm (Lisbon time), Dubai enters 2025, followed by Greece and South Africa (10pm); Germany, Italy, France and Spain (11pm).
London and Portugal share the same time zone, so they celebrate New Year’s Eve at the same time, while Brazil only does so three hours later.
The last to celebrate the entry into 2025 are the United States and South America.
