Defrosting minced meat is a time-consuming process that must be carried out according to certain steps. But sometimes we have to do everything we can to speed it up. Use proven methods that allow us to prepare the selected dish much earlier.

Minced meat is often preserved by freezing. This significantly extends the freshness of the product and we can prepare it at any time. Unfortunately, the defrosting process takes a very long time. However, there are ways to speed it up.

Got an idea for minced meat? This will speed up its defrosting

Freezing food is a popular, safe and extremely effective method of food preservation. It allows us to enjoy the stock for a very long time. The problem starts when you want to quickly defrost ground meat that has already been put in the freezer. This is an item that can be defrosted for hours. However, if we want to speed up its defrosting, we can use a very simple and incredibly fast trick.

Simply place the frozen minced meat in the bag into a bowl filled with cold water. We change the liquid in the bowl at least every half hour. This will ensure that the meat thaws much faster and does not lose valuable components and taste. It is extremely important that the liquid always has a low temperature. If the water is too warm, all kinds of dangerous bacteria can start to multiply in the meat. However, by following the instructions carefully, we can cook the dish safely and reduce the defrosting time from ten to just two hours. This is a great option if you forgot to take the meat out of the freezer and want to prepare it for dinner. However, it is not the only way.

How do you defrost meat in 5 minutes? Check if your microwave oven is suitable for this

Sometimes defrosting meat can’t take too long and we need it right away. If we have a microwave oven at home, we are also very lucky. Just check if the device has a defrost function, which is usually indicated by a snowflake icon. If it does, simply put the meat in the microwave and wait no more than twelve minutes.

Check the condition of the frozen food frequently and rotate it so that the meat is evenly cooked. In this way, you will prevent possible poisoning and the meat will remain safe for consumption. After thawing, never refreeze meat. The same applies to other foods. However, if you are not in a hurry and plan to prepare the frozen minced meat the next day, it is best to put it from the freezer into the refrigerator and leave it there overnight. Then it safely defrosts on its own.
