It is already certain that from next January 1st, the ex-SCUT that are on Via do Infante, the main highway in the Algarve that connects Lagos to Castro Marim, will disappear with the promise of making your car trips in the southern region of much more economical country. However, if you want to travel by car between Lisbon and the Algarve via the famous A2, be aware that you will have to pay more in tolls from January 1st.

Until the end of 2024, the route between Lisbon and the Algarve via the A2 requires the payment of 22.70 euros in tolls. Even so, it has already been confirmed that from January 1, 2025 you will pay an additional 0.60 euros for each route between the capital and the southernmost region of mainland Portugal.

This means that, in tolls alone, you will pay 23.30 euros, if you have a vehicle belonging to class 1.

These increases, for class 1 vehicles, have as a reference, as provided for in the concession contract, the annual inflation rate, without housing, registered in October on the continent, and the additional 0.1% contemplated by law due to the limitation in the increase in tolls imposed in 2023 due to the context of high inflation.

As with the A2, the value of tolls on the A1, the motorway that provides the connection between Lisbon and Porto, will also increase. We are talking about an increase of 0.70 euros, which means that you will now pay 24.60 euros in tolls, according to information provided by .
