Five babies die of hypothermia in Gaza, Israel has blocked entry of humanitarian aid

The United Nations accuses Israel of blocking aid from entering Gaza, where winter and cold conditions have killed at least five babies. The situation worsens with the destruction of the local health system, which is on the verge of collapse due to constant attacks.

The United Nations again accuses Israel of systematically blocking the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza, at a time when local authorities report an increase in deaths due to the cold. In recent days, at least five babies have died of hypothermia.

Winter has arrived with force in Gaza, and intense rain has further devastated the region, already seriously affected by the war. Noura, a desperate mother, lost her newborn son, Juma, who couldn’t resist the cold, despite his mother’s efforts to warm him. The twin brother was hospitalized, but the tragedy continues to spread, with many other victims, especially babies, in the refugee camps.

The United Nations warns that the situation is getting worse, with Gaza’s health system on the verge of collapse due to Israel’s incessant attacks. A report by the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights highlights that aid is being prevented from entering the enclave.

During the early hours of the morning, 45 patients and wounded were evacuated from Gaza for treatment in hospitals outside the war-torn Gaza strip.
