Who is Liam Delap?
Liam Delap is a 21-year-old English striker who has stood out despite Ipswich’s irregular Premier League campaign. The young man is the son of Rory Delap, a former Stoke City player and idol, and caught attention at Derby County’s youth ranks, which led to his signing by Manchester City in 2019.
At the Citizens, he had some opportunities in the first team, making six appearances and one goal, scored against Bournemouth in the 2020 English League Cup. Little taken advantage of, he was loaned to Stoke City, Preston and Hull City before being permanently traded to the Ipswich, in July 2024, for 17.85 million euros (around R$113 million).

How long is Liam Delap’s contract?
Liam Delap has a contract until June 2029 and is already attracting interest from other clubs, such as Chelsea. Blues coach Enzo Maresca spoke about the player at a press conference before this afternoon’s duel.
— Liam is a fantastic player, even more so given his age. We spent a year together (at Manchester City) and I think that season he scored 22 or 24 goals. He is a very good striker, as I have said many times, England are very lucky because they have very good players, very good strikers, and they are working hard with the ball. Without the ball, he understands the game and can score goals. Because of his age, I think he can be an important player for England — said Maresca.
