The Governorate of Jerusalem announced this Monday that any property whose ownership cannot be proven will automatically be considered no man’s landa measure that particularly affects the Arab neighborhoods of the city.
The Government itself has reported that it has begun to apply the measure to Sheikh Yarrá and Jabal Mukaber. Specifically in the Al Qanbar neighborhood and the land near the Israeli separation wall near Abu Dis. Furthermore, they have indicated that they do not construction licenses will be granted on these landsaccording to the Palestinian news agency WAFA.
The objective is apply this policy to the whole of Jerusalemwith special attention to the town of Silwan, in the neighborhoods of Al Bustan, Batn al Hawa and Ein al Lauza.
Demolition orders
In the last few hours, thirteen demolition orders have also been issued corresponding to as many homes owned by the same family in the town of Anata, northeast of Jerusalem. These homes belong to brothers and cousins of the Al Fuhaidat family, who have lived in the area since the 1950s.
This same Monday Israeli forces have entered the town of Al Isauiyanortheast of Jerusalem, and have delivered several demolition orders.
