While midnight doesn’t arrive in Brazil, other places in the world are already celebrating the New Year. The first country in the world to be in 2025 was Kiribati, in Oceania, which toasted the New Year at 7 am Brasília time.
Next, it was the turn of New Zealand and Australia, who celebrated the New Year at 8 am and 10 am Brasília time. Following this, countries in East Asia, such as Japan and South Korea, turned the year around at 12pm Brazilian time.
