At the same time, he denied success to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un sent Russian President Vladimir Putin a New Year’s greeting. In it, he pledged to strengthen the countries’ bilateral military cooperation, North Korean state media said on Tuesday. TASR informs about it according to a report by the Jonhap agency.
“The year 2025 will become the first year in the 21st century in which Russia claims victory in the war against neo-Nazism,” Kim said in a greeting, according to North Korea’s state-run KCNA news agency.
At the same time, Kim expressed his determination to “continue strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership” of the DPRK and Russia through new projects to strengthen both nations, KCNA reported. He also wished Putin “great success” in leading the country and prosperity, well-being and happiness for the Russian people, the report added. The leader sent the letter to Putin at a time when the countries are deepening military, economic and other ties. North Korea signed a mutual defense treaty with Moscow in June and later backed Russia by deploying more than 10,000 troops in its war with Ukraine.
South Korean officials warn that the DPRK plans to send more troops and equipment to Russia, writes Jonhap.
