Children found their mother’s body when they returned from church, on Monday night (30), in the Cajuru neighborhood, in Curitiba. Cleusa Gomes Taborda, 39 years old, was found dead in her home, in a possible case of feminicide.
The victim’s body was found by the children, an 8-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy, who saw the scene when they returned from church. The boy contacted a friend via a messaging app, who then informed his parents and the Military Police were called to the scene.
The police isolated the crime scene and teams from the Homicide and Personal Protection Division carried out examinations at the scene in search of clues that could clarify the case. Currently, the main suspect is Cleusa’s Haitian ex-boyfriend, with whom she had a relationship for around two years. Police are searching for the suspect, who was recently seen near the victim’s residence.
Three months ago, Cleusa decided to end the relationship. The ex-boyfriend was seen taking photos of the location in recent days and is under investigation. There are suspicions that the shooter cleared the crime scene to make it difficult to clarify the case, remaining at the scene for more than two hours before fleeing.
