New Year’s Eve 2025 has rain forecast in several capitals; know which ones

The issued yellow and orange alerts for intense rain for different regions of Brazil during New Year’s Eve. The reason is that some states record rainfall of up to 100 millimeters per day, with intense winds and hail.

In the North Region, the heat and high humidity are expected to cause areas of instability, with rain showers throughout this week. Accumulated rainfall can exceed 30 millimeters in much of the region, and reach 80 millimeters in some places in Amazonas, Pará and the south of Tocantins.

Boa Vista (RR) is expected to record high temperatures this Tuesday (31/12), with a forecast of a maximum of 38ºC and a minimum of 27ºC, with chances of rain showers and isolated thunderstorms.

In the Northeast, the forecast is for light rain in the east and north. Between western Bahia, Piauí and much of Maranhão, rainfall could exceed 40 millimeters throughout the week.

There is no rain forecast for New Year’s Eve, but the day should be covered by clouds and with milder temperatures, with a maximum forecast of 33°C and a minimum of 23°C.

In the Central-West, a humidity channel will favor the record of heavy rains between Goiás and Mato Grosso do Sul until the weekend. The accumulated rainfall in some areas can reach 150 millimeters in regions of Mato Grosso and Goiás.

With a more moderate climate, there is a forecast of many clouds with isolated showers and thunderstorms throughout this Tuesday. The temperature in the capital can register a maximum of 28°C and a minimum of 18°C.

Instability and the humidity channel will favor the chances of rain in much of the Southeast Region, with the possibility of accumulated rainfall reaching 70 millimeters in almost all states.

For the thousands of tourists who traveled to watch the famous fireworks display on Copacabana Beach, rain should not be a concern. Inmet’s forecast for the capital of Rio de Janeiro is a cloudy day with temperatures between 21°C and 32°C.

In the South Region, rains should be more intense between the east of Santa Catarina and Paraná, with accumulations of 40 millimeters.

The forecast for Florianópolis (SC) is for many clouds with the possibility of isolated rain between the afternoon and evening of this Tuesday. Temperatures in the capital of Santa Catarina should be between 22°C and 26°C.

• Curitiba (PR): many clouds with isolated rain, with a minimum of 16ºC and a maximum of 27ºC
• Fortaleza (CE): many clouds, with a minimum of 26ºC and a maximum of 32ºC
• Goiânia (GO): many clouds with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms, with a minimum of 20ºC and a maximum of 32ºC
• João Pessoa (PB): many clouds, with a minimum of 24ºC and a maximum of 32ºC
• Macapá (AP): many clouds with rain showers and isolated thunderstorms, with a minimum of 24ºC and a maximum of 32ºC
• Maceió (AL): many clouds, with a minimum of 23ºC and a maximum of 32ºC
