Heavy snowfall in the north of Japan caused on Tuesday canceling dozens of flights as millions return home to spend the New Year holidays with their families. At Hokkaido’s main airport, passengers scrambled to secure alternative flights. Long queues formed, writes AFP. Some passengers whose flights were canceled were preparing to welcome the year 2025 in the departure halls.
