Vienna – With 349 people who, according to preliminary figures, died in accidents on Austria’s roads last year, the Ministry of the Interior (BMI) reported on New Year’s Day the second lowest figure since records began in 1950. According to information from Wednesday, this also means a decrease of 13.2 percent compared to 2023, when 402 people died. Only in the first Corona year (2020) were there even fewer victims in road traffic, with 344 people killed.
