Singer Liam Payne was ripe for intensive psychiatric care before his death. That’s according to new revelations that his personal psychiatrist recommended more intensive treatment in the weeks before his death. The British musician ended the therapeutic relationship with the doctor.
According to TMZ magazine, the doctor sent the singer a letter in September, in which she explained the decision to end her work as his therapist. She said she carefully considered his condition and concluded he needed a higher level of treatment. She recommended that he continue to take his prescribed medication, avoid alcohol and drugs, and attend psychotherapy regularly to process his depression and trauma.
“It is essential that you regularly attend to your mental well-being. I wish you all the best on your journey to mental health,” the doctor concluded her letter. Unfortunately, Liam continued to use drugs and alcohol and died on October 16 after falling from the balcony of his room at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
