You have everything at home
To prepare it, you need four apples, 150 grams of plain flour (spelt wholemeal is best), some ground walnuts, 3 tablespoons of honey, one egg, ground cinnamon and 80 grams of butter. You probably have these ingredients at home, as for the flour, you can also use plain flour.
Easy procedure
How to do it? So simple that it couldn’t be easier. Mix all the ingredients except the cinnamon, apples and egg whites and make a dough out of them, which you put in the refrigerator to rest for about half an hour. This is exactly the time that will serve you for the next part of the casserole cake preparation. Now you need to peel, cut and remove the core and finally cut the apple into small pieces.

Once the apples are ready, take a suitable container – it can be a tin, an earthenware simple form, or a real casserole – and pour the chopped fruit on the bottom. Subsequently, it will be necessary to roll out a sheet of the dough large enough to cover the entire surface of the pot or tray and place it on top of the already prepared apples. Finally, make stiff snow from the remaining egg white and spread it over the sheet of dough. If you really like nuts, you can sprinkle uncrushed walnuts on the whole raw work for now, but we won’t spoil anything with raisins, which rule such treats in many families.
Half an hour in the oven
Now there is nothing left but to put the cake in the oven, which we preheated to 160 °C, for half an hour. After just a few minutes, the irresistible aroma of apples, butter, cinnamon and nuts will waft from the oven, bringing the whole family into the kitchen. Therefore, be careful to let the cake cool down in a safe place, as the risk of swallowing a too hot bite out of impatience will be very high in this case.

How to serve such a cake? Although it will usually be gone before you even have time to think about it, you can whip the cream in advance and decorate each piece with whipped cream before serving. On a slightly lukewarm piece, the cold cream creates another incredible temperature contrast that elevates the dessert to the next level.
