The 2025 Northeast Cup has 12 confirmed clubs and four open places, which will be defined through a preliminary phase, the so-called pre-Northeast Cup.
This preliminary stage begins this Saturday (04/01), with the first of two phases. There will be eight knockout matches, in a single game, classifying eight teams for the second phase – when the last four classified for the group stage of the country’s main regional tournament will be defined.

How the Northeast Pre-Cup works
In the pre-Copa do Nordeste, 16 clubs face each other in two knockout stages. Eight clubs move from first to second, where the four classified for the group stage will be defined.
In the second phase, the clashes are defined according to the clubs’ position in the CBF National Ranking. The best placed player faces the worst in the ranking – and so on.
