In a New Year’s message released on Wednesday (1), on social media, Lagarde reiterated her intention to maintain efforts to stabilize prices. “We made significant progress in 2024 in reducing inflation and we expect 2025 to be the year we are on target, as expected and planned in our strategy,” she said. The central banker also recalled that the ECB intends to promote a review of its monetary policy strategy this year. “We are doing this to ensure that the policy fits the changing world we live in,” Lagarde highlighted.
2024 was an eventful year, and 2025 promises to be just as exciting.
