Dream countries for Poles are no longer mainly the United States or Great Britain. They prefer to live in Spain, Italy or Germany.

More than half of Poles would like to move out of their country. This follows from a public opinion poll, the results of which were published on Thursday by the Polish market research institute ARC Rynek i Opinia. The most preferred country is Spain, TASR informs, according to a report by the PAP agency.

In the past, the ideal countries for Poles were the United States and Great Britain. Now the USA has finished fourth behind Spain, Italy and Germany. The UK “has fallen to the bottom of Polish preferences”, the authors of the survey said.

Dissatisfied Poles

Another question in the survey was about the degree to which the life of the respondents approaches the ideal. According to the answers, it is clear that the Poles are not satisfied. Only residents of four of the 17 surveyed countries consider life to be very close to their ideals, the authors of the survey said. According to him, the most dissatisfied are the inhabitants of countries such as Japan, Greece and Bulgaria.

“It is often said that Poles are a nation of complainers, but the results of the study show that many complain even more than we do. Especially when it comes to complaining about your country,” commented the vice president of ARC Rynek i Opinia Adam Czarnecki.

The survey was conducted by the IRIS company, which is represented in Poland by the ARC Rynek i Opinia institute. It was conducted in 18 countries from January to March 2024 on a sample of 500 people aged 18 and over. In Poland, the studied sample consisted of one thousand people.
