Registrations can be made until June 30th, with incorporation of those selected scheduled for the 1st or 2nd semester of 2026
Voluntary military enlistment for women began this Thursday (2 January 2024). Young people born in 2007, who turn 18 in 2025, can participate.
Registration is open until June 30th, with incorporation of those selected scheduled for the 1st or 2nd semester of 2026. The service lasts 12 months and can be extended for up to 8 years.
This year, 1,465 female vacancies were made available, distributed between the Army (1,010 vacancies), the Air Force (300 vacancies) and the Navy (155 vacancies). The expectation is that the number of vacancies for women will increase progressively until it reaches 20% of the total available.
Selection
The selection process includes interviews, physical tests and health examinations. In some cases, candidates are allowed to choose the force in which they wish to serve. In the Navy, women will be incorporated as recruit sailors; in the Army, as soldiers; and in the Air Force, as second class soldiers.
