No one was injured in the fire.
Fireworks caused a fire in the roof of a four-story apartment building on Červeňová Street in Bratislava during the New Year celebrations. The owner suffered damage, preliminarily estimated at 100,000 euros. The Fire and Rescue Service (HaZZ) of the Bratislava Region informed about this on the social network.
The fire was reported at 1 a.m. on Wednesday. “The responding firefighters, who used self-contained breathing apparatus due to heavy smoke, extinguished the fire with a single stream of water,” explained HaZZ.
The investigator of the causes of the fires determined that the fire spread to the roof as a result of the negligent actions of an adult when handling pyrotechnics. At the fire, 15 members of the Fire and Rescue Department of the Slovak capital, Bratislava, intervened with four pieces of firefighting equipment.
