The Faro Territorial Command of the GNR, through the Quarteira Territorial Subdetachment, seized this Wednesday, in Quarteira, 22 cylinders of nitrous oxide, known as “laughter drug”, during a road inspection action.
GNR soldiers approached a vehicle that was heading towards a nightlife establishment. During the approach, the vehicle’s occupants displayed suspicious behavior, which led to a search of the vehicle. Inside, 22 nitrous oxide cylinders were found, which were eventually seized.
As part of the operation, a 42-year-old man was identified and an administrative offense report was drawn up.
The seized cylinders and the infraction notice will now be sent to the Food and Economic Security Authority (ASAE).
With this operation, the company reaffirms “its commitment to combating illicit activities and protecting public health and safety”.
