Please note that Coral viburnum is not suitable for eating raw. It contains substances that can cause severe poisoning of the body. Coral viburnum preserves should be prepared from frozen fruit. If there have been no frosts, just throw them in the freezer for a few days. These fruits have a bitter aftertaste, which is due to the tannins they contain.

Z Coral viburnum can be used to make delicious preserves, jams, preserves or juices. The jam will be perfect for tea, bread and roasted meats.

To make jam, wash the viburnum fruit, then put it in a pot and heat it for about an hour, stirring occasionally. It is also worth adding a few pieces of lemon and orange with the peel, which should be scalded first. If you like spicy flavors, you can also add a few cloves and a pinch of cinnamon. After this time, the whole thing should be wiped through a strainer. Finally, the mass can be sweetened with sugar (per kilogram of fruit, about half a kilogram of sugar). If you don’t like very sweet products, add less. Cook the pureed jam over low heat for about an hour until it thickens. Pour into clean and sterilized jars.

It is worth remembering not to overdo the amount of coral viburnum. Two or three teaspoons for tea or for sandwiches are enough. Food allergies are a contraindication to consuming coral viburnum jam.
