The 55 councilors elected to the São Paulo City Council took office this Wednesday, the 1st, for a term that runs until December 31, 2028. The ceremony will take place this afternoon at Palácio Anchieta, headquarters of the São Paulo Legislature.
In this legislature, the São Paulo City Council was renewed by 36%. Among the councilors taking office today, 35 were re-elected and 20 elected for new terms. The rate, however, is lower than that observed in the last two elections, which was 40%.
For this legislature, the PT is once again the party with the most councilors, with eight seats in total, the same number obtained in the 2020 election. Next, with seven parliamentarians each, come MDB, PL and União Brasil.
