Ten people were injured Thursday night in a shooting outside the Amazura nightclub in the New York borough of Queens. The four perpetrators managed to escape from the scene, the New York police reported. TASR took over the report from the AP agency.
The incident occurred around 11:15 p.m. local time. Around 15 people between the ages of 16 and 20 were standing in front of the business waiting to be admitted to a private event. Four men approached them on foot, three or four of whom opened fire; in total, according to the police, they fired approximately 30 shots.
They then fled the scene, according to witnesses, getting into a light-colored sedan that did not have a New York license plate. Six women and four men were taken to nearby hospitals. According to police, they did not suffer life-threatening injuries. The motive for the shooting is still unknown, but the police said that it was not terrorism.
