The specialized website “Classic Football Shirts” chose the ten most beautiful football shirts of 2024, and two Brazilian teams were mentioned in the election: Vasco and Botafogo.
Vasco’s black Kappa shirt came in seventh place. It was launched in April in honor of Roberto Dinamite. The Vasco star died in 2023, and the uniform has his silhouette, as well as the inscription “Eternal Dynamite 10” and the number 10 with the Maltese Cross and a letter dedicated to the idol on the inside.
The Botafogo stripe, made by Reebok, also had a retro feel, reminiscent of the shirts used in the 50s and 60s due to the zig-zags in the white and black stripes, something common in fabrics of the time. The white is also a little lighter, in reference to the old uniforms. The uniform came in seventh place.
The most beautiful shirts in the world: how did the election turn out?
Olympique Marseille’s white anniversary shirt came in tenth place, with Bayern Munich’s beige third kit in ninth.
In eighth place was Bologna’s shirt in honor of the team’s return to the Champions League after 60 years without competing in continental tournaments. Fifth place, after the two Brazilians, was Versailles’ third shirt, in red, black and gold. Fourth place was Juventus’ third uniform, dark blue with gold details.
The top 3 started with the shirt in honor of Milan’s 125th anniversary, striped in black and red. In second place was Argentina’s commemorative uniform, with thicker stripes and gold details.
First place went to the Colombian team, with a not-so-clear white shirt with blue, red and yellow stripes in allusion to the country’s flag. The uniform pays homage to the 100 years of the Colombian team, reinventing the model used by the country.
