Atlético-MG concluded its 1st full season at Arena MRV. Located in Belo Horizonte, the Minas Gerais club’s new home had a record attendance of 44,876 fans during the Copa do Brasil final against Flamengo.
However, the event also faced problems, resulting in the temporary closure of the stadium and the possibility of a more severe punishment by the STJD (Superior Court of Sports Justice).
“Regarding the lawn, we couldn’t have made it synthetic. Today Botafogo’s synthetic, which is for me the best of them, is very interesting. Now, the city council understood that it gave us the freedom to use synthetic grass, something it couldn’t do when we opened. The stadium has a lighting problem, we understand that synthetic grass is better”, detailed Menin.
During the 2024 season, Arena MRV hosted 33 games, with an average attendance of 35,237 fans, the highest since the reopening of post-covid stadiums in August 2021.
The average occupancy rate was 78%, with a significant profit margin, demonstrating the financial success and fan engagement.
