Patricia Scheuer gave a statement and was released; accident in Buenos Aires killed Fernando Pereira de Amorim Junior
Actress and businesswoman Patricia Scheuer, who ran over and killed a Brazilian tourist in Argentina, was released after being questioned for the crimes of manslaughter and injuries. Fernando Pereira de Amorim Junior died at the scene of the accident and his wife, Cleusa Adriana Nunes Pombo, who was also run over, is admitted to a public hospital with serious injuries.
This happened after Scheuer lost control of the vehicle in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Recoleta, on January 1st. The businesswoman said she does not remember what happened. The testimony was given via Zoom, from Alcaidía N°15 of the City Police, in Buenos Aires, with the presence of the Argentine lawyer, Alfredo Huber.
“During her testimony, she did not answer questions, limiting herself to stating that she did not remember anything. He explained that he only saw the Museum of Fine Arts and then lost his memory. He also reported having experienced a similar episode in his own home.”a judicial source present at the hearing told the newspaper .
Scheuer’s release was ordered by judge Martín Peluso, in charge of the case. In the case file, the Public Ministry is represented by prosecutor Paula Asaro.
The medical bulletin reported that Cleusa Adriana Nunes Pombo suffered a blunt chest trauma, as well as multiple fractures to the left clavicle and ribs. It was also reported that the woman suffered a right temporal hemorrhagic contusion, with traumatic subarachnoid hemorrhage and left laminar hemothorax.
When police officers from Comisaría Vecinal 2A arrived at the scene of the accident, the man was already dead. His wife was rescued and taken to hospital, where a CT scan was carried out due to head trauma.
The Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through the Consulate General of Brazil in Buenos Aires, is monitoring the case and is in contact with local authorities and victims’ families in order to provide consular assistance.
