A blurry black and white photo of a 16-year-old teenager leaning on a mound, with her head tilted and her gaze lost. That minimal clue, recently located by the West Midlands police (the region in central England), was enough for social networks to have once again demonstrated their capacity for expansion and search. Sheila Fox was last seen in Coventry 52 years ago. It was one of the longest running missing persons cases in UK history. More than half a century later, , where it has resided peacefully for a long time.
At the time of his disappearance, Fox was living with his parents. Police suspected she had fled with a man, but kept other possibilities open at all times. Police publicly released the woman’s new image last Sunday.

New advances in forensic sciences and, above all, in the technology used, allow the resolution of cases that would have been impossible to conclude successfully a few decades ago.
“We tracked down every clue we could find and were able to find and pinpoint the location of a photo of Shelia,” explained Detective Sergeant Jenna Shaw, of the investigative team. “Each missing person has their own story, and their family and friends deserve to know what happened to them. And if possible, meet with them again,” Shaw said.
Both the British police and the media that have spread the news have respected Fox’s privacy for the moment, and no one has spread his current image, at 68 years of age.
