On Friday afternoon, an unknown perpetrator stabbed a 40-year-old man in the center of Bergamo, who succumbed to his injuries. According to investigators, the incident happened near the city hall. TASR writes according to the ANSA news agency.
The murdered man was identified by the Italian police as Mamadi Tunkar originally from Gambia. He lived in Italy for five years with his brother, his friend told the local newspaper L’Eco di Bergamo. He worked as head of the SBS service for the Carrefour supermarket. Based on preliminary reports, police believe that Tunkara was on his way to work on his bicycle, when him the attacker pulled him to the ground and stabbed him to death. He then fled the scene.
