POST 3 OF 3
The Civil Police of Paraná (PCPR) released images from a security camera that recorded the moment in which the four security guards involved in that of Luís Fernando Chiarentin, 14 years old, arrived at the scene of the crime and advanced against the group of teenagers who were harvesting mangoes on a plot of land, in Medianeira, in the western region of Paraná. The video shows movement in the area from the arrival of the suspects until the moment when another teenager, who was also attacked, asks for help from people passing by the area.
In the images released by , it is possible to see the moment when an employee closes the store located next to the land where the trio of young people (who do not appear in the video) were harvesting mangoes and leaves by car.
Suspects ran towards the young people
Then, the security guards’ car initially appears on the other side of the avenue, driving slowly. Then, just over a minute after the store was closed, the suspects’ car appeared again. Then, he stops next to the land and the three passengers get out and run towards the young people. One of them points a gun at the trio while the other two appear carrying what, according to the police, would be a type of baton.
Shortly afterwards, it is the car driver’s turn to also get out and join the group. Then, about 40 seconds after arriving at the scene, the suspects reappear running towards the car. At the same time, it is possible to see one of the young people running away, in the background of the image.
Then, shortly after the suspects’ car leaves the scene, another young man leaves the field and asks for help from a woman who arrives walking. This woman then runs out to look for help. The video continues to show this young man, who was attacked, apparently disoriented and desperate about the situation. And after just over a minute, the woman returns to the scene, along with two motorcyclists, to whom the young man reports that his friend remained lying on the ground after being attacked.

The crime was premeditated, says police
According to police chief Denis Merino, the crime was premeditated and motivated by previous disagreements they had with some of the minors attacked.
The young people targeted by the vigilantes had already been involved in some trouble in the city. Three months ago, the boys allegedly tampered with the fire extinguisher at a school in Medianeira. On another occasion, they would have thrown firecrackers near the city hall.
“These are previous differences. They worked in a private security company in the city and these minors, sometimes, went to their respective places of work and there were disagreements, so many due to some acts that the minors committed, there were insults exchanged. This has been going on for some time now. The crime was premeditated,” said the delegate.
