An 18-year-old amateur football player and a drug dealer were involved in a fight at a funk party, at a New Year’s Eve party in the early hours of last Wednesday (1st), in Baixada Fluminense, in Rio de Janeiro. The athlete allegedly stepped on the drug dealer’s toes, who was unhappy and demanded an apology. The boy did not retract and was shot in the head.
The player, identified as Kauan Galdino Florêncio Pereira, was taken to an Emergency Care Unit (UPA) in Queimados, but due to his severity he was taken to a hospital in Nova Iguaçu. The athlete remains hospitalized in the Intensive Care Center (CTI), in a very serious condition.
While the player’s family and friends unite in prayer for Kauan’s recovery, the Rio de Janeiro Civil Police are investigating the death of the suspect who shot the young man. The drug dealer known as Testa de Ferro, who would be responsible for leading drug trafficking in the São Dimas community, was found dead.
