Adjustment in ticket prices reached at least 7 capitals at the beginning of 2025; Florianópolis leads the ranking and São Paulo goes to 8th place

At least 7 Brazilian capitals will start 2025 with higher bus fares. Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Florianópolis, Belo Horizonte, Natal, Recife and Salvador have announced price increases in recent days. For the majority, the adjustment takes effect in the first days of January.

The biggest increase was in Floripa: from R$6 to R$6.90. It is the most expensive rate among the capitals. The new price applies to payments in cash and QR code, but varies depending on the use of Citizen (R$ 5.75), Tourist (R$ 6.75), Vale Transporte (R$ 6.75) cards and if paid at the social rate (R$5.00) – in case of cash payments.

The readjustments changed the ranking of the highest prices. The capital of Santa Catarina, which previously tied with Curitiba (PR) and Porto Velho (RO), now leads the dispute alone. On the other hand, Rio Branco (AC), which has the cheapest price (R$ 3.50), has not changed its ticket price for 4 years.

O ranking One of the most expensive tickets is followed by another capital in the South: Curitiba (PR), tied with Porto Velho (RO), in the North. Both cities did not have adjustments in 2025 and maintain ticket prices at R$6.00.

Among the capitals that underwent readjustments, São Paulo (SP) presented the 2ndth biggest increase: 13.6%. Next is Belo Horizonte, with a 9.5% increase. The city ranks 4th among the most expensive in the country.

At the other end, Macapá (AP), with a fare of R$3.70, and Palmas (TO), at R$3.85, come below Rio Branco as the capitals with the cheapest fares.
