Adrilles Jorge (União Brasil), former Big Brother Brasil participant and now councilor in São Paulo, began his term with an unusual surprise. When he was assigned to office 607, on the 6th floor of the City Hall, on Wednesday, the 1st, he discovered that the bathroom there had no sink or toilet.
The cabinet was previously occupied by Janaína Lima (PP), who was unable to be re-elected. According to Adrilles, she did not inform in advance about the removal of the items. “There was a bathroom there, there’s even a shower in the bathroom. It’s not private”, joked the councilor during the inauguration ceremony on the afternoon of this Wednesday, 1st, in the Chamber itself.
A camera on the House’s internal circuit captured a man removing the vase. Janaína explained that the items were purchased with her own resources and that, according to Chamber rules, she had the right to take them when leaving office. In a statement, he declared: “It is our duty to return the cabinet as we received it, ensuring that all public assets remain duly registered and intact.”

Adrilles, however, reacted with good humor. “I think it is a punishment for me, as a liberal conservative, to be forced to use the public bathroom. But everything is fine. Having some way for my team to relieve themselves nearby, it’s calm.” He also joked that the team could adopt a “community potty.”
The president of the Chamber, Ricardo Teixeira (União Brasil), stated that something similar had never occurred in the House and that the case will be evaluated by the new Board of Directors. Installing a new sink and toilet in the cabinet will depend on this analysis.
Janaína, who began her political career with the Novo party, was expelled from the party in 2021 after a fight with her then colleague Cris Monteiro. The episode occurred in the Chamber’s bathroom during the vote on the municipal Pension Reform, resulting in attacks and an investigation by the House’s Internal Affairs Department.

During her term, Janaína implemented structural reforms in the office, transforming the space into a “legislative coworking”. The concept, according to her, aimed to bring entrepreneurs closer to initiatives aimed at the city.
Janaína highlighted that she left other renovated items in the space, such as glass partitions and lamps, for the new occupant to use. “I’m happy to know that he intends to maintain this concept, which promotes an entrepreneurial spirit within the Chamber” he stated.
Meanwhile, Adrilles is waiting for a permanent solution for the bathroom. He stated that the case will be taken to the President of the House, but maintained a relaxed tone: “I need to pee, it’s necessary. But I use the community service for anything.”
